we all need a hug

saw something beautiful on the train on the way home today: a toddler crying out for her mother to carry her. young kids know something a lot of us have forgotten: we were never made to stand on our own two feet; we were meant to rest in our Father's arms. We were never meant to learn to walk on our own; we were meant to simply rest as things worked out for us.

rough day at work. for a few hours it had all the makings of a business drama: broken software, slamming of a phone, staring at plans in frustration... and at one point my PR skills were put to the test, and I promptly failed which made me feel pretty guilty.



isn't it awesome how God speaks so directly during sermons? so many times I've had a problem in the week and God deals with it directly through the preaching.

at bible study in the evening pastor talked about the balance between being a so-called "good Christian giver" and having Godly wisdom. the passage talking about turning the other cheek is there not to tell us to be nothing but meek and gentle, but it's telling us to overcome evil with good :) think about it: is it better to take up a challenge to a fight just because your pride is hurt, or to smile and do nothing, showing that you are above this because your pride is in Jesus, and it can never be hurt?

so the next time i'm faced with a PR problem, Lord help me to overcome unreasonable people by being "unreasonably good"! haha
